Our Services
SCV is a general practice veterinary clinic. We prioritize preventative health care, but also offer services to manage both injuries and illness. We are happy to be your first stop for any questions or concerns that come up with your pet. If a case becomes too complex, we have a number of different specialists that are ready to handle consults and referrals.
Specialized Care for Your Pet
We only make recommendations for medical services that fit the need of your pet, no one else’s. We did not get the business of veterinary services to make recommendations for unnecessary services that only result in costly expenses to the client. Any recommendations we make only come after thorough evaluation of your pet’s health.
Dental Care
Why is dental care important for pets?
Oral hygiene is very important when considering overall health. Chronic severe dental disease can lead to heart conditions, kidney injury, infection, pain and least of all halitosis (aka stinky breath). Even with regular at home care, most dogs and cats will need a deep cleaning, just like humans get at the dentist. Unfortunately, we can’t simply ask them to sit still and say “Ahhh”. For an effective dental cleanings for pets, it requires anesthesia. Anything less is literally just scratching the surface.
Preventative Medicine
Vaccines • Anti-Parasitics • Nutrition • Arthritis Management • Hygeine • & More
“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”
In addition to routine vaccines and anti-parasitics, we frequently try to address problems before they become a major issue. This early intervention can have a massive impact on your pet’s life (and yours!). Common subjects include nutritional advice, arthritis management, oral hygiene, and long term management of chronic conditions. It all starts with a thorough physical exam with one of our veterinarians.
Surgeries
Spays • Neuters • Soft Tissue Procedures • Referrals
We perform a variety of surgeries including routine spays/neuters as well as more complex soft tissue procedures. We know the idea of surgery can be a very scary thing to you and your pet, so we are here to walk you through the risks and benefits of each procedure. We recognize every patient is different, so every patient’s anesthesia plan is tailored to their individual needs. We are never too proud to discuss referral to surgical specialists if that is a better fit for the case.
Medical Diagnostics
X-rays • Blood Analyzers • Ultrasound • & More
SVC has some of the most advanced in house diagnostics available. This includes digital X-ray, blood analyzers, basic ultrasound and even an AI powered microscope! If we need a more obscure or specialized test, we have the option to send samples to a reference lab for rapid results from an expert. This lab offers specialist consulting at no additional cost to our clients!
Emergency Care
Unexpected accidents and illnesses are a part of life. We are here to help manage the most stressful part of having pets. One of the best parts of our new facility is the capacity to take to make it work when you don’t plan for a visit. If your pet needs more intensive treatments or monitoring than we can offer, we are able to transfer your pet’s case to one of our partner 24-hour hospitals. Despite leaving our facility, we are more than willing to continue to be a trusted resource if you are facing challenging decisions.
